On July 16, 2024, ALBA RORR New Material received a no-objection letter (NOL) from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for its mechanically recycled post-consumer PET plastics, allowing their use in food-grade packaging.

This FDA approval represents a significant milestone for ALBA Group Asia’s first plastic recycling facility in Mainland China. Located in Yingtan, Jiangxi province, ALBA RORR boasts a production capacity of 50,000 tons per year of AAA-grade rPET flakes and 20,000 tons per year of food-grade rPET pellets. These high-quality recycled PET materials are suitable for a range of applications, including cosmetics, textiles, automotive fibers, and food-contact packaging. The FDA’s NOL is recognized in the U.S. and other regions under FDA jurisdiction.
